Blue Planet SUPGrip Handle (For Installation)

The high strength injection molded nylon SUP Grip handle was designed specifically for Stand Up Paddle boards.

The patented SUP GRIP allows for easy, quickly accessible, secure and comfortable handling and carrying. No moving parts means nothing can get stuck or malfunction, and is thus unaffected by sand and salt.SUP Grip makes it easy  to grab your board quickly and securely, which is important for racing and in the shore break.

The molded rubber grip surface is comfortable and grippy even when wet. The easy installation process mounts flush and can be glassed over for extra strength.

Wrap a locking cable through it for secure storage.

Once you try SUP Grip you will never want to use a fingerhold handle again!

Installation instructions:
DIY installation recommended only for those with experience in epoxy board construction and repair and using a router.  Required tools:  Plunge router with 2"or longer router bit ( installation depth of box is 1 ¾").
Watch this video to see how to install the box flush with the deck and glassing over the box on a new board or retrofitting a board without a handle or with a uncomfortable or unbalanced handle:
Another method (although not as strong as glass over flush mount method) to retrofit a SUPGrip handle is to install the only the lower box and have the flange sit flush on top of the deck glass, this can be done as follows:
Find balance point with fins and leash and lay handle upside down on deck pad, then trace flange and remove deck pad in that area.  Then router out the size and depth of the lower box only without the flange (allow for thickness of deck pad if router sits on pad).  Tape off deck pad and handle, then install using slow curing thickenend epoxy so the flange sits on top of deck glass and seals against the deck.  Make sure to use enough resin so that it overflows around flange with no voids. With this method, the flange thickness is about the same as the deck pad and does not need to be glassed over if installed well.
Note: Never use polyester resin on EPS foam and use slow curing resin to avoid excessive heat from resin that can melt the foam.  If you are not comfortable doing this, leave it to a professional.
