yes, with a Tuttle to plate adapter
Can the Easy Foiler Mast be used with a plate mount for adjustability forward and aft?
A bigger board is good to learn on but it is harder to control once on foil. If you have the wing handling downwind and are able to get on foil and stay upwind, it's probably time to downsize, under 7' and volume= your bodyweight in kg+ 10% or so.
A big foil will let you take off sooner in lighter wind or with a smaller wing for sure. I learned on the 2000 cmsq Blue Planet Carver Foil which is excellent for getting up in light wind and ease of use.
I bought an easy foiler 8.6 from you with foil - 195 liter It’s been a trip getting it going - quite the sea saw up on the foil with my wing. Then I tried a friends whose board was a lot smaller - foil further back with more tail volume. That was actually easier to get going and more stable. I noticed that you don’t sell the bigger model anymore and dropped it. Looking on line there seems to be a consensus that bigger than 8ft makes controlling the foil to difficult because of pivoting. I have gotten pretty good at sailing the thing but compared to other models I think mine might not fall under the category of easy foiler. It’s actually impossible to pump- because of length -one needs to rely on speed. I am a 6ft 4 guy - at 250lbs which might be an issue too. Should I write this off and keep up with the latest trends or learn to master the beast. I know that it will tough to drop the volume too much - 140litre is sinker for me.
Enjoying your weekly videos. Was in Hawaii from mid-May to Mid-July in 2019 and had a 9'4" Fun Stick shipped to Florida after attending your SUP session in June. Anyway, I'm now interested in wing foiling and have a question. Wing size is generally recommended for specific wind conditions but no mention of the size of the foil. I'm more interested in stability & glide (than speed & maneuverability) from a foil so I'm wondering if I can go for a 4 meter wing instead of the 5 meter wing (for ease of handling) I had been considering. What I would like to see is how the foil size figures into the wing selection and wind conditions. Will probably spend more time on a lake than in the ocean. Thanks, Bill Robison
