Waikiki Hotel SUP/Surfboard Storage Options

There is an old adage that wisely instructs us: “When in Rome, do as the Romans”. In Hawaii, that means surf, stand-up paddle, eat a poke bowl and then surf some more. Because no one wants to stay at a hotel that doesn’t offer board storage, here is a quick, no frills, guide to help you see what hotels are board storage friendly.

Note: This list is to be used as a reference and is by no means all encompassing. Hotel rules and/or regulations are subject to change.

DOUBLE SHAKA HOTELS

Surfboard & SUP Friendly Hotels That Provide Storage Free of Charge…Yeeewww:

   Hotel does provide board storage and is free of charge.

2. Halekulani Hotel 2199 Kalia Rd, Honolulu, HI 96815, (808) 923-2311 –

   Hotel does provide board storage and is free of charge.

3. Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach 2169 Kalia Rd, Honolulu, HI 96815 (808) 923-3111 –

   Hotel does provide board storage and is free of charge.

4. Ala Moana Hotel 410 Atkinson Dr, Honolulu, HI 96814 (808) 955-4811 –

   Hotel does provide board storage free of charge and is located in the parking garage. You must see parking attendant to have him unlock storage.

5. Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort & Spa 2424 Kalakaua Ave, Honolulu, HI 96815 (808) 923-1234 –

   Hotel does provide board storage free of charge.

6. Waikiki Beach Marriot Resort & Spa 2552 Kalakaua Ave, Honolulu, HI 96814 (808) 922-6611 –

   Hotel does provide storage free of charge.

7. Pacific Beach Hotel Waikiki 2490 Kalakaua Ave, Honolulu, HI 96814 (808) 922-1233 –

   Hotel does provide board storage free of charge and is dependent of availability of lockers.

8. The Modern Hotel 1775 Ala Moana Blvd, Honolulu, HI (808) 943-5800 –

   Hotel does provide board storage free of charge as boards can be left with bell desk.

9. Park Shore Waikiki Hotel 2586 Kalakaua Ave, Honolulu, HI 96814 (808) 954-7426 –

   Hotel does provide board storage free of charge.

10. Lotus Honolulu at Diamond Head 2885 Kalakaua Ave, Honolulu, HI (808) 922-1700 –

    Hotel does provide board storage in back storage rooms and is free of charge but depends on availability of space.

11. The Equus Hotel 1696 Ala Moana Blvd, Honolulu, HI 96815 (808) 949-0061 –

    Hotel does provide board storage free of charge.

12. Waikiki Grand Hotel 134 Kapahulu Ave, Honolulu, HI 96815 (808) 923-1814 - 

    Hotel/Condo/Vacation rental property has board rack out by the pool but it is sometimes filled with boards from people who own a unit there. You can bring your own cable and lock and safely lock it out by the racks for free if there is space.

SINGLE SHAKA HOTELS

Semi-Surfboard & SUP Friendly Hotels That Do Provide Storage, But Charge:

1. Moana Surfrider Hotel 2365 Kalakaua Ave, Honolulu, HI 96815, (808) 922-3111 –

   Hotel does provide board storage, but does charge $7.00 USD a day. Also, we have previously been told when dropping off rental boards that guest must now be present when doing so.

2. Embassy Suites Waikiki 201 Beach Walk, Honolulu, HI 96815, (808) 921-2345 –

   Hotel does provide board storage if the board is over 9’5” and is $3.00 USD a day.

3. Outrigger on the Beach 2335 Kalakaua Ave, Honolulu, HI 96815, (808) 923-0711 –

   Hotel does allow boards with one time deposit of $50 USD and is returned to guest once lock is returned.

4. Trump Interantional Hotel Waikiki Beach Walk 223 Saratoga Rd, Honolulu, HI 96815 (808) 683-7777 –

   Hotel does provide board storage in parking area but is operated by a separate company. Storage can be organized through concierge.

5. Aqua Skyline Hotel at Island Colony 445 Seaside Ave, Honolulu, HI 96815 (808) 954-7411 –

   Hotel does provide board storage but is organized through a separate business. Pleas contact hotel for further details on availability and rates.

NO SHAKA HOTELS

Hotels That Do NOT Provide Surfboard or SUP Storage:

1. Sheraton Waikiki Hotel 2255 Kalakaua Ave, Honolulu, HI 9814 (808) 922-4422 –

   Hotel does not provide storage, but they offer a freight elevator for taking the board to your room for storage.

2. Ramada Plaza Waikiki 1830 Ala Moana Blvd, Honolulu, HI 96815 (808) 955-1111 –

   Hotel does not provide board storage.
